Anchor with a Ledger

A Ledger keeps your account's key on a device you hold, and Anchor works with it in your browser.

What you need

  • A Ledger device and a USB cable to your computer.
  • Chrome, Edge, or Brave. These browsers can reach a Ledger over USB; Safari and Firefox can't.
  • The Ledger Live app on your computer, to install the EOS app on your device.

Set up your Ledger

  1. In Ledger Live, open the My Ledger tab and install the EOS app on your device. The EOS app is the one Anchor uses for every network it supports.
  2. On your Ledger, open the EOS app, choose Settings, and allow contract data. Anchor needs this to set up and manage your account.
  3. Quit Ledger Live. While it runs, it holds the connection your browser needs.

Create or open your account

Open Anchor in your browser and choose Ledger as your signing method. Your key is made on the device and stays there, and you approve each action with the device's buttons.

On WAX and Telos, a Ledger works through Anchor for desktop.

If your Ledger isn't detected

Check that Ledger Live is closed, that the EOS app is open on the device, and that your browser asked permission to connect. Our support portal covers the rest.
